RAZOR BLADE STEEL

King Gillette is generally regarded as having invented the thin blade safety razor at the turn of the century. Uddeholm was engaged in the development of razor blade steel from the very beginning and by the mid 1920's, the company had introduced the first patented stainless steel razor blade.

A razor blade must be kind to the skin. To ensure comfortable shaving, our razor blade steel is suitable for hardening and grinding to a sharp edge and it is hard enough to be durable. The razor must be free from inclusion, and have a fine microstructure to insure a smooth shave.
